Kevin Zhang
Founder, Head Coach
Kevin Zhang is a freshman at Newport High School. He has a strong passion for debate and has been doing Parliamentary debate for 3 years and Lincoln-Douglas debate for 2 years. Kevin has distinguished himself in parliamentary debate through winning the 2024 Washington Parli Novice E Championship and later becoming the 2025 Washington Parli Experienced Champion. He placed Top 10 at the Middle School National Tournament of Champions along with being a Silver Medalist at the Middle School National Online Forensics in Lincoln-Douglas. Beyond debate, Kevin enjoys playing music, writing, and hanging out with friends.
Eunsoo Han
Coach
Eunsoo Han is an 8th grader at Eastside Preparatory School. She has competed in parliamentary debate for four years and Lincoln-Douglas debate for two, earning awards for her performance. At Seattle University tournaments, she has placed first in the open division and the advanced showcase round champions division, among other top finishes. Outside of debate, Eunsoo has a strong passion for chemistry and enjoys solving challenging problems. She is also a competitive flutist, winning awards in music competitions, including first place at PAFE.
Eva Deng

Eva Deng is a current freshman at Newport High School and a debater of 4 years with experience in parliamentary debate and public forum debate. Throughout her years, she has participated in many SeattleU tournaments, finishing with multiple finalist awards and honors medals in the open division. Amongst her awards, she has won first place individual speaker and placed as top two team finishers. Aside from debate, she enjoys art, volleyball, and participating in youth orchestra. Avery Du
Coach
Avery Du is a Newport High School Freshman who self-proclaims to be “most definitely the coolest coach here ever and awesomest person in the world”. Jokes aside, she’s been doing Speech & Debate since elementary and has three years of prior experience in both Parliamentary and public forum, and placed at the Washington Parli Tournaments. She claims that joining debate has been the best decision EVER because who knew that shy girl who was scared to speak up now loves public speaking and confidently leading others? She’s an enthusiastic yapper who doesn’t enjoy casework and loves refuting others’ arguments for mere entertainment purposes. Outside of debate, she likes meeting new people, reading, dancing, and is a passionate problem creator solver.
